The Evolution of Oral History in the Czech Republic

The presented study maps the topic of oral history development in the Czech Republic. The research, conducted mainly via oral history method, reflects the period since 1989 as this method could only be developed after the fall of the communist regime. The first part of the thesis deals with the chosen methodology, introduces the research topic and its objectives and clarifies the historical background. The second part of the thesis presents the analysis and interpretation of the collected material. I focus on the research projects that have been conducted via oral history and publication outputs. I try to put the researches within the broader context as well. Finally, I focus on the development of institutional background in the Czech Republic and mention central institutions where oral history method is being used. I emphasize on insights and views of my narrators who are themselves active participants in the process of establishing oral history in the Czech Republic. Market analysis for hotel IT services

The author applies marketing research methods, in order to work out a recommendation for sales growth on the background of an IT services company looking for expansion in the hotel sector in the Czech Republic. Through the application of qualitative and quantitative research methods it is established that the anonymized company needs to focus on the segment of three to five star hotels in Prague that do not have their HQ outside of the Czech Republic. Furthermore, a clear product focus on cost saving utilisation of product like virtualization and office automatization is advised, whilst expanding the portfolio on basic hotel needs like camera and entertainment systems. Finally, the analysis recommends to establish professional behaviour and appearance guidelines for in the field service technicians.
